Terry Joelle Sharp McCullough passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Baptist Memorials Center in San Angelo, following a lengthy and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.



Terry was born in Clarksville on May 19, 1960, to Robert and Mireille Sharp. She was raised in West Texas and graduated from Coahoma High School in 1978. She was a member of the first Baptist Church of Coahoma.

Terry made her home in Midland and worked for many years as a secretary for Marathon Oil and later as an engineering tech for Santa Fe Energy. Prior to her illness, she was an avid gardener and found joy in working with plants and flowers native to the West Texas area. Terry also loved shopping at flea markets and collecting antiques. She enjoyed owning and riding horses, was involved in roping, loved animals and always had many pets. Terry was a very independent and strong-willed person and was very proud of her Swiss heritage.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mireille Sharp, in 1998, her paternal grandparents, John and Clara Sharp and her maternal grandparents, Charles and Lucille Berthoud.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Alma McCullough of Midland; her father and step-mother, Robert and Lidia Sharp of San Angelo; sister Chantal Milliken and husband, Brad of Midland; sister, Joyce Cormier and husband, Jed of San Angelo; three grandsons, Colby Carruth and Lateen McCullough of Midland, and Kyler Hodges of Lubbock; one granddaughter, Sydney McCullough of Midland; an aunt, Faye Wagnon of Texarkana, Ark.; an aunt and uncle, Bernard and Daisy Froidevaux of La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland; two cousins, Kaye Hancock of Ruston, La., and Rebecca Kron of Little Rock, Ark.; and four nephews, Craig Milliken and Eric Milliken, both of New York, Brent Cormier of Frisco, and Lane Cormier of Corpus Christi.

Family visitation will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at 2 p.m., with burial following immediately afterward at Sherwood Cemetery. Kevin McSpadden will be officiating the services.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Baptist Memorials Hospice and the Baptist Memorials Division 5 staff for the loving care extended to Terry and her family during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National MS Society of Baptist Memorial Hospice.
