In the spring, on April 24, 1933, Ruby Louise Crump Patton, was welcomed by her parents, Lee Crump and Florence Dunlap Crump. In the fall, on November 9, 2014, Ruby gave up time for Eternity while a patient at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle, NC. Her family and friends give thanks to our Lord and Savior for the time they shared with Ruby.

Ruby received her formal education in the public schools of Anson County; and was employed for several years in the manufacturing industry. Her church affiliation was held with Cedar Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, Anson County, NC. She was an avid sports enthusiast; enjoyed caring and teaching youngsters during their formative years.

In addition to her parents, Lee and Florence, Ruby was preceded in death by: a son, Curtis J. Crump; two brothers: Robert "Jimbo" Crump and Charlie Crump; and a sister, Rosa Wall.

She was married to Melvin Lee Patton and they were the parents of two sons, Kelvin and Curtis. Curtis passed in 1983.

As we mourn the passing of our dear Ruby, her life, legacy, and memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Melvin L. Patton; a son, Kelvin Patton and his wife, Cynthia Patton; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers: Karo Crump and Henry L. Crump; three sisters: Annette Hood, LeCraig Hatcher and Florence Inez Rorie; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
