Harriet E. “Muggs” Jones, 94, of Oshkosh, died February 16, 2016, at her home. She was born the eighth child of Roy and Florence Bidwell on 8/8/1921. Harriet married Norval Jones on January 20, 1945. He preceded her in death June 2, 1988.
Harriet graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1940 and the Oshkosh Beauty Culture School in 1941. She worked at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute for 13 ½ years. She volunteered at the Paine Art Center as a docent, Bethel Home in the gift shop, and Evergreen’s resale shop.
Harriet is survived by her sons, Harvey (friend Sandi), John (Barb) and Steve (Patty) Jones; daughters, Mary (Dave) Miller, Shirley (Jay) Benedict and Nancy (Dr. Michael) Small; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Jones; 9 grandchildren, Robin Jones, Amy (Mike) Romenesko, Amanda (David) Palluch, Christopher Jones, Mark, Daniel and Matt Miller, Justin and Tyler Small; step-grandchildren, Beth Shaw, Chris Roy, Michael (Jill) Mussett, Michelle (Josh) Washington, and Matthew (Diana) Small; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan and Andy Miller, Elena Jones, Addison and Carter Palluch, Timothy, Joey and Henry Romenesko; step-great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Dylan Washington, Alex Koppa, Nate Roy, Mariah Mussett, Samantha and Penelope Small.
Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Norval; brothers, Cliffford, Jim, Harvey, Calvin “Barney” and Harold “Babe”; sisters, Shirley Brewer, Neve Noe and Jeanette Henschel.
Funeral services for Harriet will be at 11:30 am on Sunday February 21, 2016 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 9:30 am until time of service. Burial will be at Bethesda Ring Cemetery on Monday.
A memorial has been established in Harriet’s name for The Special Olympics and the Boys and Girls Alumni Club Camp Radford.
