He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Byerly.
A Memorial Service is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. No visitation is planned, as cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend.

Richard Edmund Byerly, 57, died Feb. 16, 2016 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1959 at Plainville, the son of Herbert and Lenora (Budig) Byerly. Richard married Sherri Houchin Dec. 28, 1984 at Great Bend. A Great Bend resident and machinist, Richard worked for Kansas Machine Works. He was a musician, collector of sorts, and was known to rescue and adopt animals.
