Elwood Resident Stricken Today

George Hettmansperger, 87, died at 12:30 a.m. today in Mercy Hospital, Elwood. He had resided at 1610 North B street in that city. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Copher and Fesler Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Reginald Barrow officiating and burial will be in the Mausoleum in Elwood City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday.

The deceased was born in North Manchester, Indiana, March 10, 1880, son of Charles and Catherine Hettmansperger. He was first married to the former Abbie Beale and after he death in 1958 he was married to Hazel Terwilliger Corbin, who survives. A retired employee of the tin plant in Elwood, he was a member of the First Methodist Church and of the Odd Fellows.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Frank Russell, formerly of Tipton and now residing in Cherokee Village, Arkansas; three children, Mrs. Edward Rogers of Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. Wayne Cunningham of Temple City, California and Frederick Hettmansperger of Burland, Wisconsin; a stepson, Nelson Corbin of New Orleans, Louisiana; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
