Norman Gray of Greenville died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Services for former Hunt County Sheriff's Deputy Norman Gray will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. B.J. Bell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Mr. Gray died Tuesday at a local nursing home after a long illness.

Born in the Dixon community on Feb. 28, 1938, he was the son of Monroe F. and Fannie T. Henshaw Gray. He married Debra J. Huls in Greenville on Feb. 14, 1987. Gray, who served under Hunt County Sheriff Red Wood in the 1960s and early 1970s, was self-employed.

Survivors include his wife of Greenville, five sons, Randy Gray of Miller Grove, and Russell Gray, Michael Montgomery, Joel Montgomery and Steven Montgomery, all of Greenville; two brothers, Howard Gray of Winfield and Tommy Gray of Lone Oak; two sisters, Juanita Ketner of Quinlan and Jo Dickerson of Mt. Pleasant; and four grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be Hunt County Sheriff Bobby Young, David Ewalt, Donnie Lewis, Bob Ward, Mike Swindell and Claude Pippen.
