Frank James Oliver, 82, of Alpena passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Tendercare Alpena.

Frank was born on July 7, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frank and Ellen (Barber) Oliver. On May 16, 1959, he married Joyce Hull in Alpena. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Frank worked at Huron Portland Cement for 15 years and was the owner of Frank Oliver, Inc. for 20 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Alpena Post 2496.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce; 2 daughters, Debbie (John) LaPar of Coral, MI, Linda (Daniel) Piotrowski of Arkansas; 2 sons, Frank (Charlene) Oliver of Spruce, Jeffrey (Tammy) Oliver of Alpena; 8 grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Hudson, Laura (Jesse) Evans, Shannon Oliver, Vanessa (Jason) Pender, Megan Piotrowski, Amanda Oliver, Joshua Oliver, Justin Oliver; 1 great grandchild, Madelyn; 1 sister, Betty Lou (Donald) Smith of Florida; 3 brothers, Gerald (Dorothy) Oliver of Lachine, Richard Oliver of Lachine, and Robert (Darlene) Oliver of Illinois.

Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, June Oliver.

Mr. Oliver is at the Bannan Funeral Home where visitation will take place on Friday from 2 – 8 p.m.with Military Honors accorded him by V.F.W. Alpena Post 2496 at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eugene Bacon officiating.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
