Services for Anion “A.J.” Henderson, age 89, of Palestine, Texas will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. William Sheffield and Rev. Wesley Veasey officiating. Burial will follow in Fields Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster . Mr. Henderson died Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at his residence. He was born July 26, 1926, in Alderbranch to James Nathaniel Henderson and Ida Elvada Langston Henderson. Mr. Henderson was a minister and was a member of the Memory Lane Baptist Church. He also served as Chaplain for the American Legion and the DAV. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Deidra Leigh Meadows; brothers, Allen Henderson and wife Addie, Marvin Henderson, Lavoice Henderson, Elvin Henderson and Jerry Henderson. He is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth Cadenhead Henderson of Palestine, children, Linda Gundy and husband John of Palestine, Jim Henderson and wife Gay Lynn of Venus, Kathy Warren and husband Clifford of Palestine, grandchildren Laura Landrum of Seguin, Tommy Meadows of Waco, Neal Morton and wife Lois of Angleton, Heath Henderson and wife Brandi of Round Rock, and Lynnette Lagow and husband Ralph of Angleton, fourteen great grandchildren, sisters Lucille Oglesby of San Marcus, and Geraldean Frazee of Elkhart, sisters-in-law, Gladys Henderson of Elkhart, and Ruby Henderson of Arkansas, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be great grandsons, Thomas Ryan Goff, Wiley Thomas Meadows, III, Collin Sanders, Taylor Henderson, Jaden Henderson, Dylan Morrow, Darwin Morrow, and Mathew Garrison.
