Shirley Ralston Greer, 67, passed away on Feb. 16, 2016. She was born in Corsicana on June 14, 1948.
Shirley was a happy, positive person who always had a smile. She taught elementary school music for over 40 years in several districts throughout Texas. She was beloved by students and faculty.
Shirley and her late husband, James A. Greer, enjoyed camping and traveling all over the United States. Their favorite places included Santa Fe, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and they enjoyed hunting for precious stones and rocks during their travels. Shirley also loved food and was always up for a new restaurant.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her parents, William David Ralston and Barbara Cox Ralston.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Greer, daughter, Jessica Greer-Griffin and husband Bennie, grandson, Devvon Greer, and granddaughters, McKayla Griffin, McKenna Griffin and McKinnly Griffin, as well as, her sister, Sandra Dowd and brothers, Dave Ralston Jr. and wife Donna, and Paul Ralston and wife Kim.
A service for the Worship of God in Witness to the Resurrection and in Memory of Shirley Ralston Greer was held on Feb. 20, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Corsicana.
Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery.
Shirley was an ordained Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church.
