DENTON, Ethel K., 89, of Cumberland, passed away February 15, 2016. She is survived by her husband, A. David Denton; two daughters, Sheree Denton and Alice Haglaund; son, Alan Strbavy; two sisters, Willie Wagner and Bertha Daughter; two brothers, Robert Wise and Joe Wise; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Denton was the founder of Girl Scout Troop 126 in Virginia Beach, and a member of Cumberland Red Hats. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, in the Thomas Chapel United Methodist Church, 1313 Cartersville Rd., Cumberland, and where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment church cemetery. The family wishes to make a special thank you to Centra Hospice of Farmville, Denise Thompson, her family and Lee Poor, for all their care. Online condolences may be made at www.bennettbardenfh.com.
