SNOW HILL | Mrs. Carolyn Ginn Bright, 75, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016. A native of Greene County, she was born November 12, 1940, the daughter of Harvey and Ruth Ginn. She was an exceptional wife, mom, and "Nanda" who cherished spending time with her family, friends and church family. Following graduation from the Snow Hill High School, she attended East Carolina Teachers College. She had a distinguished career as a teacher in the Greene County Schools until her retirement in 1994. Carolyn was also a faithful member, pianist and choir director at Harrell's Chapel OFWB Church. While she was well respected as an educator in the classroom, the greatest lesson she taught was the example of faith, devotion, strength and resolve she exhibited daily. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey D. Ginn; and her beloved and devoted husband of 53 years, Bert S. Bright. Her surviving family includes her son, Bert Sugg Bright Jr. and wife Christine; grandchildren, Carmen Bright Stancill and husband Cody, Connor Bright, and Karli Wiggins; great-grandchild, Lawson Stancill; and a brother, Winfred C. Ginn and wife Jeanne; all of whom reside in Snow Hill. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, February 18, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill. Graveside services will be held privately.
