Gwendolyn "Gwen" Reed, 79, of Oakmont died Friday (April 12, 2002) in Forbes Hospice, Pittsburgh.

She was born July 11, 1922, in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Reed was a member of Oakmont Presbyterian Church and the former Riverside Presbyterian Church, where she served as secretary and was a member of the choir and ladies circle.

She was a member of the former Pittsburgh Civic Chorus and performed at the Oakmont Lions shows for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Hugh N. (Karen) Reed of Brackenridge and Paul L. (Chris) Reed of Carneyspoint, N.J.; three daughters, Mrs. G. Louise (George) Lesh of Unadilla, N.Y., Mrs. Rhondda (Thomas) Gabud of Harmar and Mrs. Bronwyn S. (John) Catalano of Ellwood City; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, David H. Williams of East Earl; and a sister, Jane E. Williams of Drexel Hill.

She also is survived by Marion E. Reed and Richard Reed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey D. Reed; and her parents, Herbert and Elva Hackett Williams.

Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Oakmont Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Stephen Wilson. Private burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Dorseyville, Pa.
