BELL, Lena L. 89, of Springfield, Ohio, died at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in the Oakwood Village Care Center. She was born September 19, 1917 in Springfield, Ohio to Sylvester and Eugenia (Pasquini) Powell, Sr.. Lena retired as an executive secretary for the Dean of the School of Community Education at Wittenberg University after 20 years of service. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Karen Bell, Cincinnati, Ohio; a granddaughter, Christina Bell; two sisters, Helen (Robert) Patton, Ypsilanti, Michigan and Maggie Myers, Springfield; a brother, Albert (Barb) Powell, Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Karl Schaffner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Philip in 1976, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior, beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St.Vincent DePaul Society, 2425 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45505.
