John Herman Baker was born October 21, 1885, in Caledonia, Racine County, Wisconsin, to Frank and Caroline (Palm) Baker. He married Alma Hintz on May 6, 1916, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia. He was 30; she was 18. To this marriage were born 5 children: Margret Thuroit, Lester, Russell, Gladys Toler & Joyce Velzka. At the age of 52, John died of pneumonia. The children were 21, 20, 15, 11, and 6. There was one grandchild.

John Herman Baker.
John Herman Baker, 52, of 1134 Geneva street, died in St. Mary's hospital Tuesday. Mr. Baker came ot Racine 10 years ago form Caledonia, where he was born. He was employed by the Massey-Harris company many years. His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baker, were early residents of Caledonia. Surviving are his wife, Alma; three daughters, Mrs. Joan Thuriot, Gladys and Joyce; two sons, Lester and Russell; one grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. Gus Meissner of Franksville, Mrs. August Jensen of Racine, Mrs. Edwin Freudenwald and Mrs. Robert Andersen, and three brothers, Edward, George and Elmer of Caledonia. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Krug funeralhome, Rev. Martin L. Buenger officiating. Burial will be in Caledonia town cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening and until service time at Krug's.
