DEATH OF REV. Z. V. RUSH
AGED MINISTER OF THE GOSPEL PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING AT MR. GILEAD--BURY AT MT. PLEASANT
A telegram this morning announced the death of Rev. Zebedee Rush which occurred at 4 o'clock this morning at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. C W. Wooley. The remains will reach Concord to-night and be taken to Mt. Pleasant to-morrow for burial, the funeral being field at the Methodist church at 11 o'clock in the morning.

The death of Mr. Rush removes one of the oldest ministers of the church in this State, Mr. Rush was 83 or 84 years of age. He was stricken with paralysis last fall and had been since that time in bad physical condition.

Mr. Rush was for many years an active minister of the Methodist church and served many churches in this section of the State. He was pastor at the Mt. Pleasant church and here are buried his wife and one daughter. Mr. Rush also lived in Concord during his active ministry and served a group of churches in the county. His retirement was due to feeble health and age, for some years he had not been actively engaged in the ministry. His death will be heard with much regret by a large number of warm friend and admirers in this city and throughout Cabarrus county. Much of his time of recent years was spent in this city with his daughter, Mrs. D. L. Bost, and all loved the quiet and Godly gentleman Most of his time was spent between Concord and Mt. Gilead with his two daughters the only children living.

Mr. Rush was so well known to the people of this city and county that nothing needs be said of his life--a long and useful life spent in the service of his church and for the best good to his fellow men and the community. His service was of a high order, his life spent in preaching his Master's gospel and at peace with his fellow man. A good man has gone and his place will be vacant in the lives and hearts of many.

REV. ZEBEDEE RUSH DEAD
(Greensboro Christian Advocate.)
We are grieved to learn of the death, at Troy. N. C. on Saturday, September 7th. of Rev. Zebedee Rush, one of our old and honored ministers. Brother Rush Joined the North Carolina conference at Oxford in 1849, in the class with the late Rev. P. J. Carraway, who preceded him to the heavenly world a few weeks ago. He was a good preacher of the old type, and a man of solid piety and deep consecration, who filled well every appointment the church honored him with, and when age crept upon him and feebleness limited his strength. It was a great disappointment for him to fall out of the active ranks and ask for the superanuated relation.
