Jeanette Cantrell Capes of Bremen passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in a local hospital. She was born in Haralson County, April 10, 1925, daughter of the late James ‘Jim’ Perry Cantrell and Mary Alice Whitaker Cantrell. Mrs. Capes was a retired seamstress at Sewell Manufacturing Company and a member of the Bremen First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Raymond Capes.
Survivors include a son, Randy Capes of Bremen; two granddaughters, Lindsey and Scott Varnado of Chester, Virginia and Maycie and James Washam of Knoxville TN and five great grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, February 19 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Brother Herman Parker officiating. Larry Capes, Jimmy Capes, Steve Payne, Bill Garner, Barry Hardegree and Rick Cantrell will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
