Opal Cole, 90, of Abilene passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Free officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Opal was born on April 8, 1925 in Welling, Oklahoma to the late Marvin and Elsie (Cain) Matlock. Opal married the late Dewey Cole on August 14, 1940. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church. Opal loved her family. She enjoyed traveling, and shopping for antiques. In later years she enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Orville Matlock.
She is survived by a daughter, Jerri Egri of Abilene, Texas; daughter Judy Heimann and husband Gerry of Arab, Alabama; son John Cole of Wichita Falls; grandchildren Andi Egri and wife Jennifer of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Darrell Heimann of Arab, Alabama, and Kevin Heimann and wife Dawn of Brentwood, California; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Grimes and husband Kenneth of Wichita Falls.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Owens and Brumley.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, or the Children's Hospital of your choice.
