Funeral services for Ms. Mable L. Davis will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Elwood Baptist Church, Forest Hill, LA. Interment will follow in Butter Cemetery, Forest Hill, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Ms. Davis, 92, of Forest Hill, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2016 in Alexandria, La.

Ms. Davis, retired from the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Department, Glenmora Substation, after 32 years. She also loved the hobby of quilting.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ella Washer; her husband, Joseph “Dub” Davis; one son, Joseph William Davis, Jr.; one grandson, James “Spike” Ruby and one great grandson, Christopher Butter.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her daughter, Bettie Ruby and her husband, Jim, of Forest Hill; her brother, Clarence Washer, Jr. of Natchitoches; her sister, Dorothy Clark, of Albuquerque, NM.; one granddaughter, Tami Butter and her husband, Walter, of Yukon, OK; two great grandchildren, Miranda Schimmel and her husband, Bruce, of Yukon, OK; and Kristen Butter of Stillwater, OK.; three great-great grandchildren, Xavier Schimmel, Aiden Schimmel and Ryleigh Schimmel.

Friends may call at Elwood Baptist Church, Forest Hill on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
