Claude was a loving husband, dad, and papa, and a wonderful friend to many. He was a retired truck driver and owner of Piney River Enterprises, Inc.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Merolene Giles; sons, Windell Giles (Lois), Bob Giles (Cherie) and Tom Giles (Cindy), all of Roseland; a stepson, Richie Hill (Kelly) of Piney River; two stepdaughters, Roberta Fitzgerald (J.H.) of Tyro and Angie Tweedy (Tracy) of Appomattox; two sisters, Maxine Mason (James) of Roanoke and Janice Wilson (Mark) of Lynchburg; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn "Kitty" Jessee.
A funeral service was held 2 p.m Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Rose Union Baptist Church by the Rev. John Campbell and the Rev. Brian Warren with burial following in Jonesboro Cemetery.
