After a long courageous journey, Molly Sanders, 77, died of uterine cancer Sunday, August 27, 2006 in Santa Fe, NM, while visiting her daughter, Jan. Memorial services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, September 6, at Olivet Church, 2743 - 82nd Place in Urbandale. Everyone who knew her loved Molly's outgoing and gracious spirit. She had friends in many spheres, including her Olivet Church family, Waveland Village Association, PEO Chapter HE, two bridge clubs and a square dancing group. Molly loved her children and grandchildren always offering encouragement and positive thought. She was an avid reader and movie enthusiast. Molly enjoyed art, hearing speakers, nature walks and following cultural trends. One of her greatest joys was family reunions and sharing life together.
After receiving the free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ, her faith grew through challenges and she exemplified the motto, "Faith without works is dead." Even though we miss her dearly, we rejoice that she is experiencing a great family reunion in heaven with others, including her late husband, Bob Sanders. Molly was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Florence (Tyler) Adams and her husband Bob Sanders. She is survived by two sons: Mark (Karen) Pomeroy of Lincoln, NE and their children Steve, Aaron and Tim; and Kevin (Diane Puccetti) Pomeroy of Madison, WI, daughter Jan Pomeroy of Santa Fe, NM and her children Saul and Sarah; step daughter Cathy (Mike Hinshaw) Sanders of Germantown, MD, her brother Steve (Terry) Adams of Sylvania, OH and her children's father Robert (Terri McClintock) Pomeroy of West Des Moines.
