Brenda Joyce Bruce Cannon, 64, wife of Jimmie Earl Cannon, died Monday, February 15, 2016, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Cannon was born April 2, 1951, in Rochelle, GA, a daughter of Vera Lucille Warren Bruce and the late Charles Gilbert Bruce.

She grew up in Macon, GA, where she attended High School and College. She was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. She retired from International Paper Company. She had a great love for sewing and quilting.

She was survived by her husband of Andrews, a daughter, Christy M. Bruce of Roberta, GA; a step-daughter, Judy (William) Gibbs of Syracuse, NY; a step-son, Phillip C. (Vania) Cannon of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Ann Clark and Vickie (Steve) Burgamy, both of Macon GA; two brothers, Gill (Betty) Bruce of York, PA, and Donnie (Drucy) Bruce of Brunswick, GA; her best friend, Lea Smith of Macon, GA; several nieces and nephews, including Susanne Clark of Dublin, GA; and eight grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her father; a brother, Wayne Bruce; and a step-son, Jimmie Earl Cannon Jr.

Funeral services were Friday, February 19, 2016, in Piney Forest Baptist Church. The Rev. Craig Stephenson officiated. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Piney Forest Cemetery.
