United States Air Force,
Vietnam War,
Veteran,

Gerald Puffer, 69 years of age, of Jamestown, Kentucky, formerly of Palm Beach, Florida, departed this life on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 at his residence.

Gerald was born on Tuesday, August 20th, 1946 in Juno Beach, Florida, son of Harold and Francis Moore Puffer. Gerald was a graduate of the Riviera Beach High School Class of 1964. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving his country in the United States Air Force. After his service in the Air Force, Gerald served for two years in the Sea-Bees Navy Reserves. He was a Master Guild diesel mechanic. After his retirement, Gerald did seasonal work in the tool room at the State Dock, in Jamestown. He enjoyed traveling and loved football; especially his Miami Dolphins.

“Gerald was the most perfect husband and father. We have lived in five states and never met anyone who didn’t like him.”

Gerald was survived by his loving wife, Dee Kimball Puffer; one daughter, Amber Lee Cali (and her children, Christopher Cali and Aaron Cali, all of Georgia); one son, Bud Downes, of Jamestown, Kentucky (and his children, Connor Downes of Oklahoma, Sierra Downes of Russell Springs, Kentucky, and Noah Ward of Vero Beach, Florida); and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

Services were held privately by Gerald’s family with the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky in charge of the arrangements.

Burial followed in the Somerset City Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.

THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF GERALD,

If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear, Though you may not understand why I'm no longer there. Remember my spirit, that is the real me because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free. Oh, if you could only see!

I have held our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand. All of Heaven's angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land. Beyond the gates of pearl I've walked on the golden streets.

I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare, I've even seen our Lords mansion and someday I'll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because "His Word" will show you the way. So please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
