Keith Michael Turner 59, of Vienna traveled home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2016.

Keith was born January 3, 1957 in Hurricane, WV, the son of the late R. Dale Turner and Elsie Garrett Turner of Vienna, WV.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen Enoch Turner of Vienna, a sister, Rebecca Turner Moses of Hurricane WV; a brother, Bill Lee of Vienna, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of PHS where he excelled as a pitcher in baseball. He attended Marietta College on a baseball scholarship and then transferred to Salem College where he was accepted into the Who's Who among students in American University and Colleges. He continued to play baseball for Salem College where he was chosen to play for a minor league farm team in North Carolina in the summer of 76. He graduated with a degree in accounting in 79 and then started his Masters at Marshall University.

After graduating from Salem University, Keith went to work for Union Carbide in Marietta, Ohio in June of 79, from there he went to work at Rollyson Aluminum in South Point, Oh. and ended his working career at VW of America. He was a past member of Vienna Baptist Church.

After an accident in 1985 he went on to receive many accolades and met many challenges, but he continued to participate in sporting events.

Keith participated in many wheelchair Track and Field events in WV, PA, and OH and in 2006 was awarded Grand Champion of WV Track and Field and National Champion in the 100 and 200 meter races and qualified to go to Bejing for the Paralympics. Keith also loved snow skiing, golf, basketball, track and field, and helping others who were physically challenged. He was a mentor at the Marietta Spinal Cord Unit.

Keith also volunteered for Enoch Entertainment Agency where he booked many national, regional and local artists in many locations.

He endured many setbacks in his 31 years in a wheelchair but overcame most of them.

The family would like to thank Carrie Boyd his longtime Nurse's Aide, Dr. Armstrong who went above and beyond to take care of Keith and the caring staff at the Willows.

A memorial service for Keith will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna with Pastor Dennis Pratt officiating. A celebration of Keith's Life Gathering will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
