"Charles W. Burke" was Swedish Claes Vilhelm Björkander born to Johannes Björkander and Ingenbor Broman. He moved to New York City with his son in 1880 to live near his sister, Caroline Björkander Parsons. Other siblings who emigrated to America were Anna Lovisa, Augusta Charlotta, Albertina, and Gustaf Björkander. All died in the New York City area or Florida.
Charles was a machinist who died in the New York City Home for the Aged and Infirm, Brooklyn Division. He was buried at the County Farm, according to his death certificate. His son, born 1873, became "Charles Burkander Wilson," changing his name. He worked in New York City in the film industry, died in 1934, and was buried in New Jersey, where he lived with his wife, Caroline Wilson.
