Jackie Lou Gregory 1930 - 2016

Jackie Lou GregoryWas born on June 22, 1930, in Fred, Texas to Bud and Emma Caraway. She went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2016 in Beaumont, Texas.
On October 10, 1950, Jackie married Joe Gregory. She traveled all over the world with Joe while he was in the service. They lived in Washington D.C., Omaha, Nebraska, Silsbee, Texas, March Field, California, North Africa, Barksdale, Louisiana, Panama, and then settled in Beaumont, Texas.

Jackie had an amazing love for Jesus Christ and faithfully attended Friendship Baptist Church. She had passion for Southern Gospel Music and often went to shows with her sister and friends. Her wonderful sense of humor and sparkling personality was a blessing to all those who knew her. She lit up any room with her laugh and smile. She made such a difference in people’s lives that she touched. Jackie enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, shopping, and spending time with her dog, Foxy, and cat, Mr. Willie. But Jackie’s most special gift was the extraordinary love she had for all children and the difference she made in so many of their lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Emma Caraway, her son Jerry Gregory, her brother Tom Caraway, and sister, Alice Brown.

Her husband of 65 years, Joe Murray Gregory survives her, along with her son, Gary Gregory and wife Debbie of Beaumont, Texas; her sister Juanita Shaffer of Silsbee, Texas; her sister Geneva Miller and husband Gene of Nederland, Texas. In addition, her grandchildren Lance Gregory, Leah Gregory, Jordan Rodden, and great grandchild Emily Rodden survive her.
