Mrs. Linda C. Knight Yates, age 65, of Rockvale, Tennessee, died Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her home in the Newtown Community. Mrs. Yates was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was a daughter of the late James Clarence and Margarita Virginia Malone Cary. She was a member of Kingdom Cumberland Presbyterian Church. For the last four years, she attended Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church where her husband pastored. In addition to serving along with her husband in the ministry, Mrs. Yates was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Cumberland Presbyterian Women and the Red Hat Club. She was also the owner/operator of Yates Pest Control. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly C. Wagie.
Mrs. Yates is survived by her husband of 38 years, Rev. Scott Yates, Rockvale, TN; sons, Kevin M. Knight, Tucker, GA, Philip A. Knight, Atlanta, Ga; sister, Judy C. Martinez (David W.) Leister, Key West, FL.
Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Miller and Rev. John Eatherly officiating. Burial will follow in King Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.
