Born April 1, 1934 in Palatine Bridge, NY he was the son of the late Homer and Gertrude Prall Jump. He attended Canajoharie Central School.
Bob first owned and operated his own farm on Jump Road in Canajoharie. He also worked as a truck driver for the Fort Plain Packing; Glen Mohawk and later started his own trucking business, Robert Jump & Sons Refuge & Trucking. His passion was driving trucks and he last worked for the Obreza Tucking Company in Mohawk, NY until retiring in April of 2009.
He attended St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam. Bob was a member of the Teamsters 291 in Albany; National Farmers Organization and the Farm Bureau.
On April 22, 1979 he married the former Beth Abraham who survives him. He is also survived by five sons, Robert J. Jump, Jr. (Linda) of Coxsackie, NY, Richard J. Jump of Eudora, Kansas, David P. Jump (Anna) of Fairview, Tennessee, Bryon K. Jump (Ryann) of Sprout Brook, NY and Kevin R. Jump (Samantha) of St. Johnsville; a daughter, Theresa A. Monk (Jerry) of St. Johnsville; a sister Marilyn Austin of Sedro Woolley, Washington; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was predeceased by his son, Edward Jump who passed away in 1996.
Burial will take place in spring at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY.
