Katherine Maxine Mauldin, of North Little Rock, known as "Mac" by her family, passed away at the age of 79 on February 9, 2009. She championed for the needs of her children and was a spirited partner to her husband, Jim, for over 60 years. During
her lifetime she saw many changes in the world having lived in
Memphis, Chicago and St. Louis before settling in North Little Rock.
She loved being on the beach in Pass Christian with her husband, Jim,
or outside in the green trees at her home. Jim recalls how "she was
quite the looker" when they met, saying that she reminded him of Betty
Grabel. She expressed her artistic flair through her fashion and her
attention to detail in her home. She will be remembered and missed by
her husband, Jim Mauldin; her sons, Jerry Mauldin and Eric Mauldin;
her daughters, Kate Althoff and Dianne Foster; her grandchildren,
Devon Carlson, James Mauldin, and Emily Althoff; and her siblings,
Allen Walls of St. Peters, Mo. Carlton Walls of Knoxville, Tn.
Mattie Holt of St. Louis, MO. and Brenda Shank of Austin, Tx.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13th, 2009 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
