He is the beloved brother of James Seifert (Barbara Meissner) and the late Robert Seifert.
John was born, raised and educated in Philadelphia, where he graduated from Frankford High School in the city. He enlisted in the United States Navy on October 1, 1943 and served on the USS Pastores, the USS Arethusa and the USS Signal during World War II. He was honorably discharged from the service on December 12, 1946. After the war, John worked as a tool and die maker for many years until his retirement.
Relatives and friends were invited to a visitation on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 12:00 P.M. and to his memorial service at 1:00 P.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. A graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
