Leonard Harrison Shepherd passed away at the age of 82. He was born to Homer Lee and Stella Rochford Shepherd. He was a resident of Battle Mountain since 1948. Shep worked in law enforcement in Lander County for 24 years. He served as constable and deputy sheriff and retired as undersheriff in 1979. He is survived by his wife, Ila; sons, Bruce (Kathy) of Sparks, Leonard L. (Shirley) of Battle Mountain; sister, Mary McLaughlin (Joseph) of Reno; four grandchildren, Jodi (Tony) Moore, Kevin, Sean and Leonard D. Shepherd; two great-grandchildren, Satica and Kade Jones; nieces, Larina Shepherd and Lisa McLaughlin; and Nephews, Tyler Shepherd, Dan McLaughlin and Mitch, Mike and Mark McCorkle. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence (Larry); and sister, Wanda Hill.
