Amy Smotherman Adams, age 92, of Mt. Juliet, TN died Sunday at Parrish Place in Mt. Juliet. Mrs. Adams was a native of Rutherford County and daughter of the late H.R. and Evie Pinkerton Smotherman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Valter W. Adams, who died in 2000 and four sisters, Mary Smotherman, Grace Hogwood, Polly Smotherman, and Sue Reeves.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Norman Weber will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Adams is survived by one son, Kendall L. Adams of Mt. Juliet; one daughter, Debra Brewer and her husband Jerry of Belmont, MS; one brother, Tom Smotherman of the Blackman Community; niece, Orma Gregory; four grandchildren, Rick Adams, Ken R. Adams, Kerry Adams, and Jason Brewer; five great-grandchildren, Tiffany Sarell, Britany Adams, Tanner Adams, Korben Adams, and Gage Brewer; and three great-great-grandchildren, Holden Sarell, Paxton Sarell, and Kairi Adams.

Mrs. Adams was a member of Green Hills Church of Christ in Mt. Juliet. She was office manager for Dr. Payne Hardison before her retirement in 1981.

Visitation will be 11:00am until 1:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
