May Travis Quinn, 86, passed away on February 14, 2016. Ms. Quinn retired as a Bookkeeper for the Blount County Board of Education. She is preceded in death by son, James "Jimbo" C. Quinn, Jr.; sister, Emily Arnold; and brother, F.G. Tidwell, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Margie Quinn Buckner (Jimmy) of Oneonta, Alane Quinn Larimer (Ricky) and Judy Nelson (Bill) all of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Dan Buckner, Winston Nelson, Lindsey Larimer Mills and Dugan Nelson; honorary grandson, Austin Murray; step-grandchildren, Jason Nelson and Dr. Courtney Nelson Hall; great grandchildren, Ryder Buckner, Tristan Nelson and Tinsley Nelson; step great-grandchildren, Cade Burke, Aubrey Nelson, Dillon Nelson, Stella Hall and Will Hall; sister-in-law, Mazell Blackwood Tidwell; nieces, Sandra Jean Murray, Dianna Keegan and Debbie Foster; and nephew, Darrell Tidwell.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 1PM from the Oneonta First Baptist Church with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery. Ms. Quinn will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 11AM until service time.
