Mr. Norman Wesley Griffin, age 91 of Gadsden, formerly of Tucker, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 13, 2016. Graveside service and interment will be held at Williams-Southside Memorial Park on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing. Mr. Griffin was a member of South Highland Baptist Church and a WWII veteran of the United States Army. An engineer, he worked several years with WSB Radio before working for Voice of America, from where he later retired. Mr. Griffin had also owned his own radio station, which he later sold. Preceding him in death are: his mother, Bea Griffin; sister, Grace Griffin; and son, Norman Wayne Griffin. Mr. Griffin leaves behind his loving wife of seventy years, Rubye Lee Griffin of Gadsden, Alabama; daughters, sisters, brother, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. (Excerpts from The Gadsden Times, Feb. 15, 2016)
