TRENTON — Julius Campbell Sr., 96, of Trenton, passed away on Jan. 28, 2012, at home.
Born in Latta, S.C., county of Dillon, he was educated in the Trenton public school system. Mr. Campbell was a World War II Marine Corps veteran who served in the South Pacific. He retired from Richcrete Corp. with over 30 years of service. In his early years, he was an active member of Union Baptist Church serving as treasurer and a trustee. Mr. Campbell was a Lord in the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. organization.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marie T. Campbell, his parents, Houston and Beatrice McNeal-Campbell, and six siblings. Surviving are his daughter, Joyce Kersey of Trenton; his son and daughter-in-law, Julius Jr. and Sandra Campbell of Trenton; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy T. Walker of Trenton and Lillyan Campbell of Ewing; grandchildren, Robert III and Diana Kersey, Sharine and John Lugo, Tasha Kersey, Amia and Steven Goglia and Michael Thompson; five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and his caregivers, Sonia Williamson, Lynette Monroe-Thomas and Janet Head.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 2) at Union Baptist Church, 301 Pennington Ave., Trenton. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Campbell Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Top Teens of America - Trenton Chapter Scholarship Fund, PO Box 7963, Trenton, NJ 08628.
