Born July 5, 1929, to Leroy and Mabel Weldy, LaVerne never strayed from her birthplace, graduating from Mt. Zion High School in 1947, attending Millikin University the following year, and marrying her sweetheart E. Dean White on January 20, 1952. She joyfully accepted the responsibilities of being a farmer's wife, actively participating in the Macon County Home Extension for many years, and championing the successes of the White Brothers' Farm.
Her love of the farm was only surpassed by her love of God and family. She was a faithful member of East Park Baptist Church of Decatur where she participated in any and every opportunity available to her. Because she believed that Jesus defeated all of God's enemies, including death, through His own death, burial, and resurrection, LaVerne lives with God and will reunite with those who know Christ at their appointed day.
Surviving are her three children: Randy (Faith) White of Allen Park, MI; Roger (Vickie) White of Decatur, IL; and Deanna (Randy) Lloyd of Godfrey, IL; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters Jean (Weldy) Woodrum, June (Weldy) Wells; and brother Paul Weldy.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and her siblings Raymond Weldy, Pamela Weldy, and Lorraine Weldy Henry.
