Glentworth Walsh Fraser Addison was born on Apr 22 1831 at Manchester, England to Henry Robert Addison Lt Col of the 2nd Dragoon Guards and Mary nee Vokes.
He resided in Limerick with his maternal grandparents as a child, then moved to Bruges, Belgium to live with his father and second wife Grace nee Barton.
He emigrated to Australia in 1852 on the Carnatic.
He worked as an Assistant Gold Commisioner in northern NSW, then as a police magistrate in Tenterfield and East Maitland NSW.
He worked as a Stipendiary Magistrate in Sydney, NSW, remaining on the Metropolitan Bench for 17 years.
He married Ellen Campbell on 8 Jan 1862 at Armidale NSW. They had 10 sons and one daughter.
He then married Wilhelmina Walsh on 16 Sep 1882 at Sydney, NSW. They had two sons.
He died 17 Nov 1903 at Hunter's Hill, NSW.
