Obituary, Long Beach Press-Telegram, 16 Dec 2005:

Louise Losey Simpson, 80, of Sacramento passed away peacefully at her home on December 12, 2005 in the loving care of her son, Roger. She is survived by her devoted family including her sister, Kathleen Gormly; brothers, Paul and Bob Losey; children, Larry, Alan, Ginger, Roger, and Richard Simpson. Also survived by her grandchildren, Keith, Kim, Eric, Scott, Jim, and Kris, and Christopher; great grandchildren, Adrienne, Samantha, and Zachary; nieces, nephews, and many close family and friends. Louise was the student body president of St. Andrew's of Pasadena in 1943, and after graduation, Louise went to work for her uncle in Ketchikan, Alaska. Returning home she went to work for the telephone company and soon married. Moving to Long Beach in 1953 with her family, she remained close with family and friends. Holidays, birthdays, graduations, every event was an occasion for the Losey's to gather and celebrate. A founding member of St. Joseph 's Church and school (St. Cecilia Guild) in Long Beach, she was a fervent supporter and fan of athletic and academic activities. A Camp Fire Girl leader, director and outstanding volunteer, she shared her passion for camping and outdoor activities with young women throughout the city of Long Beach. Moving again to Stanton, CA, she gathered even more friends, yet remaining close to her family and parish roots. Visiting friends, and family far and wide, she traveled widely to see those she cherished. Noted for her garden and her compassion for others, her home was a gathering place for all to rest and relax. Settling into the welcome and warm respite of her brother's and sister-in-law's home in Napa, she quickly became the confidant and friend of all the young adults. Slowing with age, but not in spirit, she moved to live with her son, Roger in Sacramento. Always as close as a phone call, she kept in touch with family and friends, offering her compassion, her support and her love. Beloved by family and surrounded in spirit and prayer by so many friends; mother, confidant, sister, celebrant, spiritual advisor, Aunt Lou and just plain ol' mom. Louise's celebration of life will be Monday, December 19, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Rita Church, Sierra Madre. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena

Inscription: Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend to All
