Suzanne Leonard passed away 7 Mar 2010 of congestive heart failure. She was born 3 Oct 1939 in Salt Lake City, the first of five children to Marvin Prentice and Ruth Cardon Leonard. Born two months premature, and weighing only 3 pounds 2 ounces, she demonstrated as an infant the determination that resonated throughout her life. Suzanne was raised in Farmington, and other than living away during college, lived there her entire life where she had cherished associations with family and life-long friends. She was always proud of her ancestry and pioneer heritage.
Suzanne graduated from Davis High School in 1958 then attended Weber State College and Utah State University. She was an avid reader, loved music, and enjoyed playing the piano. She is and always will be married to Vince Criddle Hess. Together they built their own home, raised seven sons, and operated a farm - living a principled life of hard work and service.
Suzanne is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; she served faithfully. For 17 years she welcomed hundreds of people into her home; the Holy Sprit touching many hearts, feeling her loving kindness. She has a gentle sprit and a soft heart. Her greatest work in life is with her family; she loves children, especially babies, and finds great pleasure making them happy. She is a wonderful mother and we are and will be, eternally grateful to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Todd.
