Lee Bryan Bourland, of Terrell, passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2015 at home surrounded by family. Lee was born April 10, 1935 in Mason, Texas to the late Lee and Lucile (Starks) Bourland. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve and his son, Glen Ross Bourland.
Lee was a man who prized honor above all and he served in the US Air Force until retinting. After retiring from active duty, Lee still served honorably in the National Guard after which, with 30 cumulative years with both active and reserve duty, he retired from the armed forces. While in reserve with the National Guard, he began his career with Dallas Police Department and would continue serving the Dallas and surrounding communities until retiring from there after 30 years. Lee was a talented woodcarver and he also enjoyed leather crafting and his family and friends have many wood and leather gifts that will always be treasured mementos of his generosity. Lee enjoyed fishing as relaxation and during walks along creeks and lakes, or any place for that matter, Lee would keep a keen eye out for wood and branches that he could design into a personal and singular cane creation for family and friends.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Susan Duncan of Terrell; grandchildren: Bradley Duncan and wife Kate, of Iowa, Cameron Duncan and wife, Jessica, of Terrell; great grandchildren: Brent Duncan, Lillian Duncan, Genny Duncan and Wyatt Duncan as well as other extended family and a host of very good friends.
