She was born March 28, 1926, in Prairie Farm, Wis., to Thomas and Kathryn Warren Waite.
On Dec. 31, 1946, she married Wayne Barnett, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Vernon in infancy, Stanley, James, Harold and Morris, also a nephew, Jimmy Waite.
She was a retired bookkeeper for a school district.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include nieces and nephews including Jerry Waite, of Apple Valley, Minn.; Roger Waite, of Menomonie, Wis.; Vernon Barnett and his wife, Faye Dean, of Lebanon; Joan Fulbright and her husband, Bruce, of Springfield; Diane Thyfault and her husband, Bill, of Louisburg; two sisters-in-law, Elvira Waite, of Prairie Farm, Wis. and Blanche Glass, of Springfield; a special friend, Anna Marie Sternberg and her husband, Clarence, of Chicago, Ill.
Services for Laura M. Barnett will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Shadel's Colonial Chapel in Lebanon with Pastor Matt Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Competition Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
