Albert Warren Linnell and Martha Jane "Dottie" Fair were married in Saskatchewan. They had four children: two sons and two daughters.
A W Linnell was crushed to death beneath a gasoline engine near La Fleche, Saskatchewan.
He was beneath the engine packing it up when the jack slipped, allowing the entire weight of the machine to fall on his chest. It is thought that death was instantaneous. He leaves a wife and four children.

Death of A W Linnell
We publish below an account of the death of Mr A W Linnell whose parents were well known here before leaving for the west. Mrs Robert Weber is an aunt of the deceased.
"The news of the death of Albert W Linnell on Tuesday May 11, came as a stunning blow to the people of this community. He left his home at Woodrow, Saskatchewan, in excellent health, to operate his plowing outfit which was about six miles distant. Before he could commence work, it was necessary to make some repairs to the engine which he endeavoured to do. This necessitated the removal of the drive wheels, and consequently the engine had to be raised. It appears he had got the repairs and one wheel back on when the jack slipped and the whole weight of the rear part of the engine came down upon his chest and shoulders and instantaneous death resulted. The funeral was held at Woodrow on Friday. It was the largest attended funeral yet seen in that part of the province. The numerous floral offerings, which it is said were valued at $300, shows to some degree the esteem in which he was held. He was a prominent citizen of the Woodrow community and his presence was of inestimable value. He took an active part in church affairs, the agricultural society, municipal work and sports. He was the son of Mr and Mrs William Linnell of Summerberry, and was 36 years of age. He leaves a widow and four children. Our sincerest sympathy is extended to the family and parents of the deceased in their deep affliction."
