Doris Bird of Clayton, New Jersey died Friday, May 6, 2011 at The Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 89 years old. Doris was born November 15, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Louis Kleinworth and the late Helen Kleinworth (nee - O’Connor).
She is the beloved wife of the late Howard Bird. Mother of Doris and her husband David E. Yoast, Joan and her husband Frank Eliason, Janice and her husband Dennis Sharrock and Jerry and his wife Shirl Bird. Grandmother of 14 and the Great grandmother of 29. Doris was the sister of the late Louis Kleinworth.
Doris met her future husband through friends and the two were married and enjoyed a life together for 44 years. Her love was raising her four children and watching her grand and great grandchildren grow. Doris enjoyed shopping along Frankford Avenue with friends and having lunch at the Burger King.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 12:00 P.M. at Our Lady Of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Avenue, Southampton, PA 18966 www.olgc.org. Her graveside service followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.
