Shirley J. Turner, 87, of Polo, passed away Tuesday March 24, 2015, at KSB Hospital. She was born, December 25, 1927, in Milledgeville, the daughter of James and Pearl (Vinson) Crawford. On April 27, 1946 in Clinton, IA, she was united in marriage to Charles Turner ( he preceded her on December 31, 1989). She volunteered with the Polo Food Pantry, Second Hand Rose and Polo Senior Center. She was a long time member of the Church of the Brethren, Polo and American Legion Ladies Auxillary serving as President. Shirley was also a member of the Mt. Morris Lady of the Moose and Precinct Judge for Ogle County.

Survivors include daughter Marcia (Jim) Cornwell Indianapolis, IN; sons Gary (Laura) Turner of Hendersonville, TN, Paul (Joni) Turner of Muscatine, IA ; 7 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by sisters Leola, Della, Bernice, Vera, brothers Wayne, Loren, Harry.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Brethren, 401 S. Congress Ave., Polo, services will follow at 11:00. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Ms. Shirley Turner Memorial and mailed to Mr. Gary Turner, 100 Cabin Branch Circle, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
