Barbara was the daughter of Leonard and Agnes Pierce who preceded her in death. Her late husband of 32 years, Emory F. Hutson, passed away in October, 2005.
She is survived by her brother Edward L. Pierce, who shared the same birthday, six years apart. Edward’s wife, Linda, who was Barbara’s BFF. Her sister, Helen C. Wingard and life partner Nathan L. Scott, Jr. Her fiancé Robert D. Jones, Jr., who shared the past eight years of her life. Her uncle Bobby L. Howell and wife, Charlotte. Niece Stacy M. Tillman, Nephews Dr. Brian Pierce (Kris) and Dr. Jason Pierce. Great nieces and great nephews, Stevie Trotter, Jacob Tillman, Mary Kathryn Pierce, Briana Pierce, Hunter Pierce, Emily Pierce, Bayleigh Pierce. Adopted sisters Madeline Pierce, Betsy Luther and Becky Lou McLaughlin.
Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 5 pm until 7 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at Serenity on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 12 noon. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens
