Francelia Williams was born July 13, 1857, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Frederick and Julia C. Sweazey Williams. Francelia was moved with her parents from Wisconsin to Iowa City, Iowa, where they lived sereral years and then moved to Dorchester, Nebraska.
Francelia was taken into the Christian Church while a young lady.
Francelia Williams was united in matrimony to Edward McDowell in Dorchester, Saline County, Nebraska on October 1, 1873. To this union three sons were born, Frank, who proceeded her in death, March 17, 1899, near Sulphur, Oklahoma, Earl of Mooreland and Will of Altus, Oklahoma.
After the marriage of Edward and Francelia, they worked for a company building railroad grades. Edward work on the grades and Francelia was the cook for the crew. The company had a chicken coup on wheels so they had eggs and meat where every they went. She had many experinces, in Indian Terrory, an Indian came in the cook tent and wanted a cake Francelia had made for the crew. She gave it to him and a few days later found her cake plate by the door of the tent.

They lived there when Francelia became ill and wasn't able to walk. She set in her chair and could make it walk around to do her work. I have heard she was a great boss and could tell others how to do many things. They resided in Mooreland at the time of her death.
