Interment will be in St. Paschal Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA
Mr. Burkett died February 11, 2016 at the Louisiana Extended Care Hospital.
Sonny was a member of the St. Paschal Catholic Church. He was a retired supervisor with Chuck Burkett Construction Company. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Sonny enjoyed spending time with his family in the outdoors, especially white perch fishing.
Survivors: his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Margaret Harris Burkett; Son, Charles C. (Chuck) Burkett, III, (Karen); Daughter, Cheryl Burkett Perkins (Ron); 5 Grandchildren, Nichole Amman, Carley Burkett, Ashley Burkett Hoyle (Sammy), Jeffrey Maroney (Kate) and Meggie Burkett Cattano (Taylor); 5 Great Grandchildren, Corree Layne Hoyle, Lyza Jane Hoyle, Cheyenne Maroney, Colton Maroney and Maddison Holifield; Sister, Althea Burkett Dayton; Brother-in-law, Robert D.
