Born April 7, 1937 in West Roxbury, MA, he was the son of the late George E. & Ruth (Marsh) McAllister.
On September 9, 1967 in St. Matthews Church in Dorchester, MA, he married Patricia C. McAllister. She survives.
He retired as the president and owner of D.F. McAllister Associates in DuBois after over 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. He was the founder and past president of Patrick Healy Chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in DuBois. He also was president of Canadian-American Motor Transportation Association, president of AOH Chapters in Watertown, MA and Akron, OH where he started the Akron St. Patrick's Day Parade. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 519 and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 2661, both in DuBois. He was a past member of the Treasure Lake Lions Club, the Rotary Club International in MA, and the Olympic Athletic Club.
David is survived by three children: Karen McAllister of Lowell, MA, Debra West and her husband, Daniel of DuBois, PA and David McAllister, Jr. and his wife, Tracey of DuBois, PA, and ten grandchildren (Jay; Sonia; McKayla; Caitlin; Sean; Nicole; Scotty; Cullen; Connor and Madison).
He was preceded in death by his brother, George McAllister and an infant sister.
Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
