Willamina - A funeral in memory of David Edward "Eddie" Fox will be held on Sunday, May 1 at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Willamina, located at 315 S. Main Street.

Eddie was born in Portland and grew up in Willamina. He attended Willamina High School, joining the US Navy in 1942. He served on an escort carrier in the South Pacific and was involved in the Philippines and Coral Sea campaigns.

In 1948, Eddie married Marylee Aase. They had one son.

Eddie worked for US Plywood in Willamina until it closed.

Eddie and Marylee were charter members of Emmanuel Luthern Church. In addition, Eddie was a member of the Willamina VFW.

Eddie was born Jan. 4, 1926 and passed away at home on Jan. 30, 2016.

Eddie is survived by his son, a granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter.
