Don Bailey, 81, Exeter, Mo., passed away February 10, 2016.

Don was born January 27, 1935 to Virgil S. and Maude Cole Bailey in Exeter, Mo. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Exeter and served as a deacon. In his youth he was a great windmill softball pitcher and bowler, once scoring a perfect game. He was an avid hunter. Don had served as past president of The National Wild Turkey Foundation. His greatest love was for his grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cathy Anderson; grandson, Robert Byam; and two brothers, Clinton and Paul Bailey.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna and husband, Brad Byam; daughter, Michelle Starks; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Mo., followed by a family dinner at the First Baptist Church. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be given to the American Cancer Society or Veterans organization of choice.

Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
