William Knauf one of the pioneer residents of Sheboygan County, died Tuesday night, Nov. 30th at St. Nicholas hospital, aged 85 years.

The deceased was born in Huelsbach, Trevas, Germany, June 13, 1812. He came to America in 1847 and settled in the town of Mosel this county, coming to Sheboygan later.

He is survived by the following five children; William, Joseph, Charles and Mrs. Henry Gruebner, of Sheboygan, and Nicholas Knauf of Chilton. Besides these there are two step-children, Petel and Nicolas Gerend of Kaukauna.

The funeral took place Friday morning at 8 o’clock from the church of the Holy Name. - Sheboygan Co. News.
